One of the most awesome vacation places in the world for top notch water sports is western Colorado, home to Glenwood Springs and Aspen Colorado. Whether you are seeking Colorado rafting guides or Colorado Fishing Guides, the valley gives you what you want, and more.
For whitewater rafting tours, the Roaring Fork River starts in Aspen Colorado and has its final confluence with the Colorado River in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. Amazingly, this means two rivers in a small area that serve kayakers and rafters alike. In early fall, after high water, you will also see plenty of people enjoying the rivers on their tubes.

The best time to raft in Colorado is late spring and early summer, when the snows are melting in the high mountains and running down the rivers, headed to the sea. This means be ready to hit the raft as early as mid-May (with a wet suit if you are a whiner or intend to get wet).
Extreme water usually lasts until mid-July, and there are usually July rainstorms that keep the waters flowing. Water is also let out of Reudi Reservoir to make sure the endangered species of fish gets enough river to keep alive. Never mind these fish are not native to Colorado, and are actually suckers introduced as bait in the last century.
If you are looking for River Fishing Trips, the Roaring Fork Valley on the western slope of Colorado is the kittens paws. We have prize winning waters in the Roaring Fork River, the Colorado River, the Frying Pan River, the Crystal River. If you venture beyond the valley itself, there is also the Eagle River and Gunnison River.
What type of fish man are you? Do you like to angle from a boat, fish from shore, wear waders, or maybe float in your own belly boat? River fishing or lake fishing, we have it all here from Glenwood Springs and Aspen Colorado.
You can plan a guided trip with an outfitter, or bring your own pole and walk right up to the waters. A fishing license is required in Colorado for anyone over the age of 16. Your outfitter can help you get the permit you need to be legal. Some of our world class waters are catch and release, some are limit 3, and others have only the state limit. Make sure you understand the laws in the area where you choose to fish.
Sindy Foerth will make sure to digest this fishing story and tell the truth soon.
Regardless of whether you are in the Roaring Fork Valley from Glenwood Springs and Aspen Colorado enjoying the waters of western Colorado, make sure to end the day with a dip in the hot springs of the Glenwood Hot Springs Resort and Hotel. If you prefer a sweat, then visit the Yampa Vapor Caves and enjoy the natural heat from geothermal water vapors.
These curing waters, high in sulfur content stink to high heaven, but our past president Theodore Roosevelt swore by them. In fact, it was the Hotel Colorado in Glenwood Springs that coined the nickname “teddy” for the president, and presented him with a Teddy Bear.
